“When you only have one shot at justice I highly recommend you leave your case in their capable competent hands. Do not be afraid to reach out and demand justice. Hopkins Law will ensure you get it. They have restored my belief in myself and the laws that are put in place to protect both you, me and all of us.”
I grew up in the Midlands of South Carolina, in Columbia and Camden, the son of another lawyer who prioritized helping those who had been hurt or wronged by what I perceived as “bullies” – bigger and more powerful individuals, and, more often than not, companies and businesses. It is with that vision that I first set out on my journey to help others when I majored in Bioengineering at Clemson University, and working for Pall Corporation working on IV in-line filtration devices.
Most clients want to know how I could go from engineering medical devices to being a trial lawyer. The answer has always seemed simple to me: I kept thinking of how I could make a more immediate and direct impact on people like I grew up with and around. The next choice seemed simple and I was fortunate enough to earn a law degree from the University of Alabama and started my career doing what I love – helping those who are injured – and I have never looked back.
I am motivated by trying to solve someone else’s problem or fix someone else’s situation when they need help the most and need a voice in their corner to fight for them. My engineering background and these motivations from the heart of my approach to litigation and my cases.
My clients are all victims – from individuals suffering catastrophic personal injuries, to groups of plaintiffs harmed by big corporations, to those victimized by implicit and explicitly discriminatory workplaces and environments.
More than anything, I am an attorney who cares — about my clients and my community. That is why we believe in the full-service law firm, providing representation for individuals from minor traffic offenses to appeals before our highest courts. As both a first and second chair attorney, I have successfully tried almost 30 civil and criminal cases to verdict and have argued before the South Carolina Court of Appeals and the South Carolina Supreme Court.
